We’re Moving
On Easter Sunday April 20, Garden City is relocating from the Marriott to Columbia Independent School (CIS)
Here are five reasons we’re moving:
1. Room to Grow
CIS offers space to grow. With larger meeting areas, dedicated kids’ classrooms, and smoother traffic flow, the school gives us the flexibility we need to continue expanding. We are building a church for the long term, and this space supports that vision.
2. More Ownership and Service
The Marriott served our every need. Which was a mixed blessing. CIS offers more opportunities for you to take ownership of Garden City. We need people to set up/tear down, greet, and attend to coffee. We can go faster alone. But we go farther together. 3. A Better Space for Kids
Garden City Kids are an essential part of our community. One of the most important reasons for this move is to create a more consistent and inviting environment for children to learn, play, and grow in their faith. CIS offers more space, storage, and a playground. It’s well suited for nurturing and discipling the next generation.
4. A Stronger Presence in Our City
We do not want to be a church in the city. We want to be a church for the city. Meeting at a school helps us engage more directly with the people we hope to reach and serve. This move positions us closer to the heart of our city and opens new opportunities to love and know our neighbors.
5. Wise Use of Resources
This transition also helps us be thoughtful and responsible with the resources God has provided. CIS offers a setup that meets our needs while allowing us to direct more of our energy and budget toward people and ministry. It is a step that supports both our mission and our financial health.

We feel gratitude for our time at the Marriott. It was the right place to begin. CIS is the right place to continue.
Our mission has not changed. We exist to help people become fully devoted followers of Jesus. CIS will help us live on mission with more ownership and hospitality.
